Martinez confirms desire to recruit
Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Wigan Athletic will be in the market for a striker in January after the board sacked Marlon King, while rumours abound that the Spanish coach will target Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo, who has been frozen out by his club president, following his attempts to force a move in the summer.
Remaining coy on specifics, manager Martinez told the Manchester Evening News:
“We are now one striker short. The squad is one body less and it is important we address that situation.
